Before We Start Your Design – DAKA Style

At DAKA Projects, we recommend setting your budget based on your preferred finishes. We’ll guide you through each step and connect you with trusted contractors if needed. Whether you’re looking for something simple or high-end, we’ll help you build within your budget — without the stress.

DESIGN PROCESS

Initial Consultation

We’re here to discuss your ideas — whether in person, by email, video call, or phone. If you have any pictures or reference materials, feel free to share them — they’re always a huge help in understanding your vision.

First Draft

The first main draft consists of the preliminary main floor layout, followed by the line elevations.

Finalize Prelims & Confirm Budget

During this step, we’ll review the preliminary plans together and make any requested revisions. Once you’re happy with the design, you may choose to consult your builder for a cost estimate to align the project with your budget. When you're ready to move forward, an initial invoice will be issued to begin the final drafting phase.

Final Review & Engineering Approval

Your final plans are reviewed with your builder to confirm everything is aligned before moving into engineering. Once approved, the engineer checks the structural integrity of the design — we allow up to 2 weeks for this phase. Once reviewed and approved, your drawings are professionally stamped and ready for permits and final quotes.

Digital plan sets (PDF or CAD format) will be delivered via email as an attachment or link to download. Digital plan sets are typically delivered within 1-2 business days.
